Kevin Gilna - Director and CEO

Kevin Gilna is Director and CEO of Transatlantic Public Affairs, where he brings two decades of experience working with US state governments; civil, business and academic organizations; European institutions and European Union Embassies and Consulates; and media organizations throughout the United States and Europe.

Transatlantic Public Affairs, founded by Kevin Gilna, advises a number of Fortune 500 US multinational companies and large US investment funds on investment, regulatory, legislative and political strategies in order to best develop their business operations in European Union Member States. These have included developing and executing successful political, media and corporate strategic plans for major US firms which generate upwards of $30 billion in revenue.

Prior to establishing Transatlantic PA, Gilna was Senior Advisor to John Bruton, European Union Ambassador to the United States. In this capacity, Gilna had direct responsibility for managing Ambassador Bruton’s outreach program with the most senior government and political leaders in the United States, including sitting President George W. Bush; former Presidents William Clinton and James Carter; and governors, state legislators, mayors, and business leaders in more than 20 states. Gilna is an experienced counsel on the EU-US relationship in matters of trade; counterterrorism; public health; energy; the environment; and the promotion of peace, democracy, and human rights around the world.

Gilna also served as Senior Advisor and Director of Elections to Mr.Bruton when he was Prime Minister of Ireland. In this position, Gilna was responsible for the Prime Minister’s press coverage, public appearances, constituent affairs, and relationships with key Government Ministers. He also served as Director of Elections for Prime Minister Bruton during two election campaigns.

An expert on the construction industry and permitting issues, Gilna also served as Director for Public Affairs for the Irish Construction Industry Federation (CIF), which represents more than 3,000 construction companies, property developers, and real estate professionals throughout Ireland. In this position Kevin was responsible for CIF Advocacy initiatives with Government and all political parties and with all media relations on behalf of the construction industry. He also coordinated all initiatives between the state and financial institutions concerning banking, funding and regulatory matters.
